RULES

1. Ham radio SOTA AWARD is available to all licensed hams & SWLs, who achieve the following:
- establish QSO with various 9A SOTA summits (hunters), or
- activate 9A SOTA summits by transmitting from the 9A SOTA summits (activators), listed in SOTA program;

2. Validity: all contacts since 01 January, 2019. are valid.

3. No limits to frequency or mode of operation, however, all contacts must comply with amateur radio communication legal requirements. No repeater QSOs count.

Hunters

4. Hunters are to make QSOs with activators operating from 9A SOTA summits. Proof of QSOs made, or 9A SOTA references collected, should be made available for certain diploma level(s) thru web application form.

Activators

5. Activators are hams operating from 9A SOTA summits, or (in special cases) from SOTA activation zone as indicated in general SOTA rules.

7. Activators wishing to participate in 9A SOTA Award Program should provide proof of their activity:
- proof of minimum 4 QSOs made from certain 9A SOTA summit; such activity logs in ADIF format send via email to 9A SOTA Program Manager at email borislanca(at)gmail.com
- proof of concrete activity from 9A SOTA summit may be requested, that activity verification is applied for (undoubted photos, a saved GPS-reading, etc.)
- after verification of submitted data, 9A SOTA Program manager will notify 9A SOTA Award manager on concrete activation status, forwarding a received ADIF-activity log for submitting on 9A SOTA eLog.
- if activator, for any reason, did not submit documentation of his activity, such activation will be recognized for hunters who made contacts, but the activator will not be included into 9A SOTA award program.

10. If certain 9A SOTA summit is activated by several activators in the same moment (group activation) each of activator have to establish the minimum of 4 QSO and send the separate log for each callsign used

11. After completed activation from Article 10, other than proof from Article 9, 9A SOTA Program manager may request a photo of all operators 

12. Activators of certain 9A SOTA reference, provided they comply with conditions set forth in Article 10, are also deemed to have qualified for category Chasers.

13. If during (the first) activation from certain 9A SOTA reference an activator does not accomplish a minimum of QSOs, �such contacts are valid only for hunters. For the re-activation from already recognized activation reference, an activator does not have any QSO minimum to achieve in re-activation.

9A SOTA AWARDS

4. To win the certain award, applicants must provide the following:
(a, hunters) Made contacts with 9A SOTA references from 9A SOTA list, (check your satus here, or send request), or,
(b, activators) Activate a certain number of 9A SOTA references (activators) (check and send request as activator)

5. 9A SOTA Program participants may apply for any of �9 degrees (levels) of Award.
The electronic 9A SOTA awards are free-of-charge sent as *.jpg attachments to applicant's email address.

15. Recognition and dedication to 9A SOTA Program, as well as acceptance of 9A SOTA rules, all activators prove by printing or labeling their QSL cards with 9A SOTA �reference numbers from the date of rules publication. All participants in 9A SOTA Program are expected to contribute in promotion of 9A SOTA program. Activities from 9A SOTA summits should be in compliance with guidelines received from authorities in charge or the owner of the terrain, if the 9A SOTA summit or activation zone is sitauted in military or private area.

16. 9A SOTA participation is on voluntary basis, and all participants should adhere to and comply with these Rules.

17. Non-compliance to 9A SOTA Rules is sanctioned by reprimand; after 3 reprimands received, a participant is excluded from 9A SOTA Program. More aggravating infringement of �9A SOTA basic rules, or its non-compliance, is sanctioned by permanent expulsion from 9A SOTA Program.

18. Sanctions from Article 16 are voted in by majority of 9A SOTA staff vote.
